City Of Milan Indiana
Milan is a small town in Ripley County, Indiana, with a population of
1,816 (2000 census). Its high school, Milan High School, won the
Indiana state basketball championship in 1954 against Muncie Central
High School, a school ten times its size. The 1986 movie "Hoosiers" is
loosely based on the story of this team. Milan is also the subject of
the 1941 Tramp Starr poetry compiled in the volume "Population 359."
